Today was a Sunday, but we still managed to do a couple things throughout the day. The first, however, was sleep in, as we finally had a morning off and the hike (or baths I guess) had us all worn out.
At 2:15, we had a tour of the Hungarian parliament building. This was by far the fanciest place I'd ever been in. First off, it was huge- 268 m long, 123 m wide, and 96 m tall. The 96 is important, as 896 is the year the nation of Hungary was formed from 7 invading tribes from Asia. There were 96 of other things in the building, too, like stairs in the entrance. Secondly, there were extravagant golden ceilings in many of the areas we visited, one such shown in the pictures. Real gold was used, but thinly painted on to have as many gold ceilings as possible.
Here are some pictures from the tour. Photo creds: Liv Nycklemoe, 2019
There was also the crown and the crown jewels of Hungary preserved in a glass case in the dead center of the building, but we couldn't tale pictures of them, apparently because then we'd find a way to steal them.
After the tour, some people (not me because my feet are still recovering from hiking in tennis shoes) bought their way to the top of St. Steven's Basilica. The Basilica is also 96 m tall, and together with the parliament, they make up the tallest two buildings in Budapest. They also managed to time it with the sunset, which is still quite early. Here is a sweet picture of this awesome view.

Following our room's outstanding and economical tradition, we cooked our own meal again tonight. This time we made spaghetti carbonara, which was a great success!

We also bought supplies to try and recreate the hot chocolate we got at the chocolate tasting last weekend (melted dark chocolate, milk, and chili powder), so hopefully that goes well too.
Goodbye for now,
Tor
